Michael Harms
APFS, Director and Chartered Financial Planner

Mike established Medical & General in 2014 and holds the Advanced Diploma in Financial Advice and is a Chartered Financial Planner.

"There are lots of unjust things in the world about how we get taxed – we get taxed in life and taxed in death – I want to try and help people mitigate their tax liability in the correct way.

At Medical & General, we understand there’s a real lack of support for the medical profession. Our specialist knowledge and expertise can help clients optimise their wealth and help them feel in control of it.

We love giving financial advice, really knowing clients and having a tangible impact on their life.

We help people to think outside the box and consider alternatives to what can be done.

We’re not here just to sell something, we’re here to be part of our clients' lives as much or as little as they want. They can tell us anything – things they might not think are relevant – but in fact it all helps. And there’s no such thing as a silly question."

Henry Bremridge
APFS, Chartered Financial Planner

Henry is a Chartered Financial Planner, a CFA Charterholder and an accredited Later Life Adviser and member of SOLLA. He is also a STEP affiliate.

"We help people by giving them a structure – we turn something vague and unknown into a clear plan and solution.

Money issues are personal and it’s understandable that some people don’t or can’t talk to anyone about them. This may mean they're not aware of much they're worth or can't appreciate what could or should be done with their investments, pensions or savings.

We help people to think about this - whether to retire early, pay off the mortgage, or gift money to family. Or even think about Long Term Care. Then we work on how best to achieve that.

It’s lovely to be able to tell clients they can afford to spend more because there is a sound financial plan that's reviewed and updated each year.

Clients can talk to us in confidence about their money - we don’t have an axe to grind, we just want to help."

Rob Muscutt
Financial Adviser specialising in Mortgages and Equity Release

Rob holds the Diploma in Financial Planning, the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Long-term Care Insurance & Certificate Equity Release qualifications and also the Certificate in Insurance Practice. He is also a member of the Equity Release Council and the Society of Mortgage Professionals.

“It’s the client interaction that I enjoy the most, meeting different people, solving their problems and giving them a solution.

I work with all kinds of clients from different age groups and vocations, helping them to achieve aspirational and financial goals which can make a big difference to their lives, so it’s very rewarding.

I specialise in arranging mortgages and alongside that, protection insurance – be that life cover, critical illness cover, or income protection. This is a very important part of anyone’s financial planning. Equity Release is also another specialism, helping clients aged 55 and above releasing equity from their homes for many reasons.

Often clients don’t realise that by speaking to an adviser they can get a better outcome because being independent we are able to help them to access better deals that can meet their budget and circumstances more precisely. It’s great to be able to help them in that way.”
